The Comic Asylum

The pilot episode for any show can go one of two ways: miserably and the show is never heard from again, or brilliantly, as was the case for the show LOST, which had the greatest pilot ever in my opinion.

The premiere episode of Hockey Talk with Courtney took the latter route. The show, in a nutshell, is about educating women on hockey. Now I'm sure there are some angry ladies out there, hardcore hockey lovers, offended by such a premise, but this show isn't gear towards anyone who can name every Canucks player, where they were born and their favourite steak sauce.

In hockey mad Canada I can understand how it would be difficult to admit that you don't know how a hat trick is achieved, where the trapezoid is or why penalty shots are awarded, and that's the beauty of Hockey Talk with Courtney. It's simple, to the point and crazy informative, without talking down to you.
